Hello everyone and welcome to my awesome blog! Your blog is not awesome! Oh, be quiet Science Meap! Anyway as I was saying we are going to learn about a very, very, very, very. Cut to the chase! You... you know what... security! Take her off my set please! As I was saying again that we are going to learn about a very big planet called JUPITER!!

Jupiter has had many names in history, but the roman gods named Jupiter after the Roman God Jupiter because Jupiter was the Roman God of the sky and thunder so the name stuck because the planet Jupiter has many storms.

Now we are going to talk about the characteristics of Jupiter.  Jupiter rotates at  different speed due to its variance and it's unusual shape it may also rotate at a different speed because it is made up of mostly gasses. Jupiter is composed of 10% helium and 90% hydrogen. Jupiter also has traces of rock, ammonia, water and methane. Scientist think that Jupiter's core is made of rocky materials that equals 10 to 15 planets the size pf earth.
Jupiter's moon Europa
Europa is the 6th largest planet to Jupiter. Europa is the 6th largest moon in the solar system. Some scientist think there is life on Europa because the moon is far to smooth to be bombarded bye comet and meteorite impacts scientist think there is water below Europa's icy surface.

Jupiter's Moon Ganymede

Ganymede is the largest moon in the solar system, it is even bigger than mercury. It's orbit last about 7 days. Ganymede has 2.02 times the mass of our moon. Ganymede is composed of mostly silicate rock, water and ice. It has an iron rich, liquid core.
Jupiter's moon IO
Io is the most volcanically active body in our solar system.Volcanic plumes rise about 190 miles above the surface. Io has over 400 active volcanoes. This extreme geologic activity is the result of tidal heating from friction from Io's interior.

Jupiter's moon Callisto
Callisto is composed of rock and ices. The surface of Callisto is heavily cratered and very old. It does not show any signs of tectonic plates or volcanism. Some surface features are various amounts of impact craters and ridges.

As some of you may have notices Jupiter has a big red spot on it. Well that red spot is a big storm that has been going on for hundreds of years.

Here are some differences between Jupiter and the inner planets.
Jupiter is bigger than the rest of the planets and none of the other planets have a big red spot/storm on them.

The reason Jupiter has stronger gravity than Earth is because Jupiter has only 254% of the gravity of Earth. This is because Jupiter is way bigger than our planet.

My 5 Facts
1) Jupiter's red spot is a storm that has been going on fro hundreds of years.
2) Jupiter's moon Ganymede is is bigger than mercury.
3)Jupiter's moon Callisto is composed of rock and ices.
4) There might be life on Europa.
5)Io is the most volcanically active body in our solar system.

Well thanks for reading my peace out peeps!

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! Today we are going to learn a bout Comets, meteoroids, meteors, and asteroids. But first we are going to learn about COMETS!!!

A comet is an object in space made of ice, dust, and when it gets close to the sun a tail of gas and dust particles form. It's speed in normally around 2,000 miles per hour but when it gets close to the sun it gets up to 100,000 miles per hour. That's really fast! The parts are nucleus, coma, and the tail.

Now we are going the explain the differences of meteoroids, meteors, and meteorites. One a meteoroid is a small body moving in our solar system. A meteor is when meteoroid enters the earth's atmosphere. A meteorite is when meteor hits the earth's surface.

Now we are going to talk about something awesome! Meteor showers! A meteor shower is a number of meteors that appear to radiate from one point in the sky at certain date each year.

Asteroids are big pieces of rock that are in the Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter. Asteroids are have some differences from comets though. Asteroids are made up of Metal and Rocky material, while comets are made up of ice and dust. Another different thing is that Asteroids form much closer to sun than comets because if comets form close to the sun the ice that they made up of would have melted. Also another different thing is that comets have tails and asteroids do not. Comets have longer orbital periods then asteroids.

Why study comets and asteroids you ask? Well scientists study them understand more about the origin of our solar system because asteroids are younger than sun and the same age as the planets and comets are the same age as the crest of our solar system so they can be good use for information.

                                                                     Fun Facts
1) Scientists have found over 90,000 asteroids which are rocky remains from formation of the solar system.
2) Comets are some of least changed objects in space.
3) There are trillions of comets out there in space.
4) 750,000 asteroids in the asteroid belt.

Hello welcome to another episode of M news we have breaking news story!!! There were 55 confirmed tornados in six different states! AAAAH!!
As of late Tuesday afternoon the weather chanel's analysis cinfirmed that were 55 confirmed tornados in six different states. Some damage surveys confirm that this could will likely be one the top five tornado out reaks in the U.S.

This picture is totally not scary.

There was also an out break on Sunday too. More tornados from this storm oh my gosh! It was also one of the biggest out breaks in U.S. history acording to severe waether expert Dr.Gregg Forbes. On tornado in Michigan was a Efo tornado wasin the city Otsego michigan was the farthest north Michigan tornado in the year period of moderm tornados (1950) according to Nick Wiltgen a meteorologist for the weather channel.
  AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

Tornados were also confirmed on that  day as far as Tennesee woth EF0 torados near Howell and Portland. There was also a tornado near Orlinda. I am so scared of tornados right now.
Geese more tornados!!

This story is important because a lot of people went throtgh this storm and it must have been scary for them because tornados are no laughing matter. I chose this story because weather intrest me and to me tornados are intrestng.

As this story develops I think what people are going to is start cleaning up the rubble and trash and find some of there belongings that the tornados left behind.

Here a question for you guys: how should you react if a tornado is heading your way do you panic or panic while going to saftey or be strong get to the right place.
Answer : Be strong and get to the right place because you will be safer if you get saftey faster.

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! It is going to be about MARS!!!

Let's start off with the name. Mars got its name from the Roman God Mars. The Roman god Mars is the god of war. The romans named the planet Mars because of its reddish glow in the sky. I guess they thought then that Mars was the perfect name.

Mars is called the red planet because of it reddish color and glow and because of the wide spread of iron oxide which is rust color. It makes it have reddish glow when it is dark.

Now we are going to talk about Mar's moons Phobos and Deimos.
Phobos
Phobos is a small irregularly shaped object. Also it orbits about 9,400 Km from Mar's center, or about 6,000 Km from the Martian surface. It is one of the least reflective bodies in our solar system. Phobos also has a large impact crater called Stickney. Phobos orbits so close to Mars that it moves around Mars faster than Mars rotates.

Deimos
Deimos is 4.5 billion years old. Deimos is smaller then Phobos being only 5 by 12 by 11 Km in size. Deimos orbits around Mars about every 30 hours. Its craters are only 2.5 Km in diameter. From the center of Mars Deimos orbits 23,460 Km from Mars. It takes about 30.3 hours to orbit Mars.

Mars has a lot of impact craters and the land is dust. It has tall volcanoes the ground is sort of reddish color because of all the iron in the ground. It also has valleys, desserts, and  icecaps.  Mars also has large canyons. Borealis Basin covers 40% of the planet and may be a giant impact feature.

Some evidence that mars has or had water is because of the dry ocean/lake beds. Some canals in the land that look liked they once had water flowing through it.

Mars is similar to earth because it's day is 24 hours and 30 minutes and that is close to earth's day. also there axis tilts are similar too Mar's is 25.19 and earth's is 23.5. Since the axis tilts are not that different mars has some of the same seasons like we have except they would be longer.

My 5 Facts
1) Mars is 53% smaller than earth.
2) Spirit was one of the rovers that was sent to Mars.
3) Mars has an liquid iron core.
4) It is the fourth planet in our solar system.
5)  It would take us about 150 days to get to mars.
Curiosity
Curiosity is a rover that was sent to mars and is finding information about the red planet. it confirmed that some of the meteorites on earth actually came from mars. The new measurement of this precision of two forms of argon - argon 36 and argon 38. These lighter and heavier forms of or isotopes argon exist through out the solar system.

Thank's for watching!!!!!

Hello everyone sorry that there hasn't been a blog in a while, but today we are going to learn about to planets Mercury and Venus. Venus the Greek god mean love and beauty but the planet Venus is awful so they shouldn't have named it that.

                                             Mercury
Mercury is an awesome planet. It is also one of the hottest. Also the planet mercury is one of the coldest. Mercury is really hard to research on because of its location so close to the sun, so we haven't been able to see it in any detail. At least not until 1974 and 1975, the Mariner 10 flew by Mercury three times and sent back about 12,000 images.

A very famous crater on mercury is called Caloris Basin it was formed by a meteorite crash long ago. The size of Caloris Basin is about 1350 kilometers in diameter, which suggest that it was the biggest collision ever! Some scientist think since the crash was intense that it sent shock waves through Mercury's center! That must have been loud.

Here is a strange thing if you could stand on mercury would have a amazing view of the sun. First the sun might start to rise, then it would start to speed up, then it would stop reverse its direction, stop again , and continue on its way!

In 2011 the Messenger will map the rest of the planet and will study what it is really made of. Also it will take measurments of its magnetic feild and look for clues about the planet's center.
Well that's it for mercury stay tuned to learn about venus!

Venus!
Venus is a wierd planet to me. Well, any way here are some facts about venus.
Venus is the sixth largest planet in our solar system. It is the second planet from the sun. It has phases like the moon.Sadly venus has no moons. They call venus Earth's sister planet. On Venus you would weigh 10% less than you do now.One day on Venus is 243 earth days.

Life would be impossible on Venus because of what goes on that planet. It is really hot almost 900 degrees celcius. Also the atmoshpere is made up of carbon dioxide. It also has no water on it and it has lightening storms almost all day long. Do Not Move There!!
                                  Compare and Contrast

                   1) Mercury can get up to 430 degrees celcius and Venus can get up 900 degrees celcius.
2) Mercury's day is 53 Earth days and Venus's day 243 Earth days.
 3) Mercury is closer to the sun than Venus.
4) Venus is called Earth's sister planet and I know this is kind of obvious but mercury is not.

Thank you for watching! This is Science Cat saying keep learning about planets!

Hello everyone this is Molly here and welcome to M News At 4:00 and I have a very important news story to tell. 2,000 bees were removed from a elderly woman's home! Aah!

On a Saturday in Cocoa Beach,Florida 2,000 bees had to be removed from a 98 year old woman's home. Here name is Sevia Moore and she said the buzz from those bees could make someone run away in fear. I believe her too because bees scare the heck out of me. According to her, the 2,000 bees made a hive in her attic. She said they didn't bother her. Well, at least when she was outside.

Moore's granddaughter Laura Blevins said when she showed Ms.Moore the hive in her attic she was stunned she had no idea that she was going to see that. Thank you for watching M News at 4:00. There will be more of this story M News at 5:00(Which there won't really be). Have a good evening everyone!
I thought the news story where i got this from was very good because 2,000 bees removed from a home! Now that's a news story in my opinion.

Hello people! Well, any way on this blog it's going to be about galaxies! Ok now lets get to the information. So what is a galaxy you ask well lets find out...

A galaxy is a group of dust, stars, and gas held together by gravity. Guess what, there are over 100 billion galaxies in our universe! A Supercluster is a large group of galaxies.

In our galaxy the milky way there are about 200-400 billion stars !That is alot. Now, there are 4 types of galaxies: Spiral, barred spiral, elliptical, and irregular. A spiral galaxy has a small bright center , or a nucleus. It sourt of looks like a pinwheel.

The next type of galaxy is a  barred spiral. Like our milky way a barred spiral has arms that extend sideways in a short straight line before spiraling outward. Our milky way is barred spiral and it has two mane arms. Like I said before it has 200-400 billion stars in our galaxy.

Another type of galaxy is a Elliptical galaxy. A Elliptical galaxy does not have a real arrangement of stars. They sourt of look like a flattened sphere. They are made up of older stars and and little gas.

The last type of galaxy is a Irregular galaxy. A Irregular galaxy are usually small and do not have a sperical shape. They do not look like other galaxies, they don't even look like eachother!

Now in most galaxies in there center is super massive black hole in the center of the galaxy. The black hole in our galaxy is waaaaaaaay bigger than our sun. A black hole spins and sucks everything into it when something gets in its way.

Remember from a few blogs ago about the big bang theory. Well, the big bang explosion was so powerful the galaxies in space are still moving away from each other. The explosion must have been really powerful!
Doppler shift is light from moving objects have different wavelengths. Redshift is that a object's light has a longer wavelength while blueshift  is when a closer object's light has a shorter wacelength.

Well I guess that's it for this blog thank you for reading my blog! Peace out!

Hi guys are you ready  to read my next blog! You better be because it's going to be awsome! It is about a star's lifecycle! That means you Sachin. Ok now to the important stuff.
As you know stars are a giant balls of gas held to gether by gravity. There are many steps to a stars lifecycle so pay close attention. That means you to sachin. Stars are formed in a large cloud of dust called a Nebulae. Yes sachin stars are formed in nebulae.

A stellar nursery are clouds of dust and gas that come  together to form stars. Sachin are you listening? Whenv tempatures reach 10 million degrees celcious a chemical change called nuclear fusion accurs. During this change two hydrogen atoms combine to make a helium atom. This chemical change gives off a large amount of energy and alot of heat. This process is the oppisite of a atomic bomb. The result is a new star.

The star expands and burns for a few billion years. The heat and light are released by atoms that are collideing. This part of a stars life is called the main sequence. The main sequence is the longest part of a stars life.

After the main sequence the star becomes a red giant. A red giant gives off light but not alot of energy. A red giant is a star that has expanded. Smaller stars when they get older they become white dwarfs. Large stars when they get really old they explode Booooooooom! Did I scare you Sachin?

When large stars explode they become supernovas. If the helium core survives the explosion it will become a black hole Daaaaaa Daaa Daaaaa! Don't I sound scary sachin.
Our sun is about 4.6 Billion years old. It is a middle aged star.It is about half way through its lifecycle. When our sun becomes a red giant it will burn uo the earth AAAAAAAAHH!!Now are you scared sachin?.
Well thank you random people for reading my blog. This is science cat saying meow! and keep loving science!
